Please sign HSI UK’s petition calling on our government not only to retain a UK import ban on cat, dog and seal fur during Brexit negotiations, but also to extend that ban to cover all animals killed for their fur: www.hsi.org/banfur
It’s now 15 years since the last fur farm in the UK was demolished, after this cruel business was banned on ethical grounds. Sadly, this doesn’t mean that UK shops and wardrobes boast only faux fur trims today, but that’s the goal of Humane Society International/UK’s Fur Free Britain campaign. Since banning fur farming here, the UK has imported at least £650million worth of fur. The majority of this fur is from farms overseas where the animal suffering is just as bad, if not worse, than the cruelty we deemed unacceptable and immoral in this country. Our #FurFreeBritain campaign aims to encourage the government to let Brits live up to our reputation as a nation of animal lovers by banning fur imports and leaving fur where it belongs – on animals!
